The Background Story of the College

Abha Light College has its roots in an informal training programme started in April 2000. Didi Ananda Ruchira gathered together students from the Korogocho slums, Nairobi and began training them in the basics of homeopathy.

Originally it was intended to be only a short course of a few weeks, but 2 years later, 6 students graduated the programme as well-trained homeopaths.

The training took place for some years at our Kariobangi clinic.
Heather Webster from South Africa teaches the group.

Nearly all the students from 2000-2005 were from economically-constrained families from the slums or rural areas. Then we moved to Buruburu. And later to Westlands where the college got formal recognition and registration.
